Hi TT and V,
As you know I moved to a new house on August 31st. At my prior residence there were 3 feral cats I had spayed/neutered and fed them daily. They had become less feral but not exactly tame when it was time to move. I chose to bring them with us to our new house, transporting them individually, all three did the exact same thing upon arrival….bolt out of the carrier and over the back fence.
I admit to an internal panic and even guilt for removing them from the only area they had ever lived in. But I chose to do my sessions seeing them all eating once again on my porch. The first one (Dodger) returned 5 days after we moved in.
It was another 3 weeks before the big mama cat (Oscar….yes she is mis-named) was found sitting on my patio chair. Time passed and whenever I felt discouraged I refocused my attention on seeing all three cats on my porch eating together. Yesterday I opened my back door just in time to see a fluffy black tail dash under the gate. I knew then that Sister was back. This morning she greeted me with her usual plaintive meow while rubbing up against my legs.
It did take 55 days for her to return, but by Feeling it Real, seeing all three cats eating together on my porch, she returned.
Blessings,
