Dear TT and V,
I had to send you a note…. this will be my third success story to share with the whole Neville Family. Another…..Imaginal Desire come true. A new car.
You may remember me – I shared a story of a miracle airline ticket…. and I shared a story of a new bathroom for my friend. Today, another friend got a new car. The exact car she imagined. It’s juicy: here is what happened.
After her car was totalled by a young teenager, and after a year of rehab, complete with inner observations and deepening of faith – a very tiny insurance settlement came to her. She and I decided it was not tiny, it was the perfect amount.
She investigated cars, models, years, mileage and created her wish list and we disregarded our budgetary “restraints”. It came down to one car: the Buick Regal, 2011, under 30k miles, deluxe, garage kept, one owner, no smoker, no accidents etc…… “Blue Book” value of around 25K…..and off we went to Louisville, the big city.
We spent a few hours at the largest dealership, with the most Buicks etc… we “did what one does” to find the car desired (much like the Aida story) …. The end of the day, we were talked down to a bit by the general manager: he was not sure if we were unreasonable or great negotiators, and he told me I was expecting a MIRACLE….. NO one had Regals at that price… and HE Owned all the used cars worth buying…
I smiled yes, I live there – and very, very happily pointed out that his job was not to tell me what I could not do or achieve, but to tell me what he could do or achieve for me. As we put our jackets back on and left – they were so stunned they did not even as our name, or remembered to get our phone number.
So, we went to stay with a friend. The friend with the brand new miracle bathroom. She was shaking her head… and saying well, he’s right. That price is way too low…you will never find a car that price (around 10K) in that shape. I reached for her hand and walked the 6 steps down the hall and pointed at her beautiful bathroom and asked her…where did THAT come from?
We sat back down, and I got online and found a great car that mostly fit the requirements – just that it was several thousand dollars more than we wanted to spend. I called and left a message. I made one phone call.
The details are just delicious, but the summary is that it was two sisters who were settling their mother’s estate. She had passed away very unexpectedly a few months earlier, and they were very emotional about parting with the car. They loved us, they loved the care they could see we would give the car, and simply asked what we could pay – because it was already free and clear – when we told them our price, boom! Tears. Smiles. New Car. New Friends. The legacy of her Mom, Edna…now travels with us too.
It is a beautiful story, and we all remarked that the story touched more than just buyer-seller, but also our friends that would hear of this story – and their friends – oh, and the guy at the dealership where we had to drive back to……. pick up all the records :). It was a sweet day, delivered directly, clearly, effortlessly …. by our wonderful imaginations, holding steady against all unsteady energies.
Beautiful.
I just forgot….to Imagine the DMV open on Saturdays …. so, we go back to Louisville to pick it up Monday.
Lisa

Great story! I am so happy for you and your friends! I know she is going to LOVE that car forever as that car will always represent how NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE!
Just what I needed to hear tonight! Thanks for sharing. Did you just not doubt that this is how it would end, or did you also imagine what the conversations, etc. would be like? Any insights on the process are a big help to me.
I have just one word for Lisa , Wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!

I have to ask, what is the Aida story? I don’t remember reading that one.
