Hope you had a great christmas and 2016 is shaping up nicely.
First, our little success story. We’ve had a bit of credit card debt for a while now not major like some people but still over £1000. I pay the card online and I always write on the statement how much I paid and the date, so every month when I made a payment I closed my eyes and revised so I wrote “paid in full” on the statement, like Neville’s friend with his zero’s.
I could have done a balance transfer to an interest free deal but I just wanted to pay it off in one hit. Testing myself you know. 18 months go by and nothing. So I decided, about September time, that maybe just revising once a month wasn’t enough so I did Feel It Real Sessions on it, when I remembered, and created a statement to Caz, “look thats £60 per month better off, how cool is that” that I could bring up every time I thought about it along with a movie of me showing her the statement.
Anyway Caz has a”long lost” uncle who was a bit of a high flier in the city (financial director of some famous international brands) and out of the blue he gave Caz and her sister £1000 each for christmas. I’m kinda gutted that she doesn’t get to spend at least some of that on herself but I also know that it came about because of my imagining so thats a huge boost in itself and a massive chunk of our debt cleared.
