Today, we are going to share a quote from a contemporary of Neville’s, her name is Florence Scovel Shinn. She shares a very simple mantra that we love here, and that you might find VERY powerful – to set the stage for your work with Neville. Here is Florence:
“Let me now accept, the divine idea, in my my mind, body, and affairs.” – Florence Scovel Shinn.
We use Florence’s approach here, when we need to OPEN UP to INSPIRATION and Imagination.
Here is why it works.
Sometimes, we simply need to OPEN UP, and notice the NATURAL DIVINE order in the world. That simple quote, we sing it as a jingle, will do that for you.
THE DIVINE IDEA is all around us – in nature and in people who are TUNED IN.
Let’s break this Florence Scovel Shinn quote apart real quick:
“Let me now accept” – The word LET is a permission based word. It gives us permission to LET GO of our limiting stuff – and open up to…
“the divine idea” – Health is a divine idea. Wealth is too. So is happiness. Look around. Look at nature. Naturally we are healthy – just like wild plants and animals. Naturally there is WEALTH all around us – in us – and available. Think about the single wheat kernel, that grows into a plant – that multiplies into a field – naturally.
“in my mind, body and affairs”. Start with the mind. Once the MIND IS NATURAL – calm, open, focused… the BODY follows, and our AFFAIRS just seem to come together – miracles happen.

I love this quote and use it often. Not a single day goes by without me using an affirmation from Neville or Florence. They have changed my life profoundly. When I was first introduced to both of these wonderful teachers, I would listen to their recordings more than 10 times in a week. This changed my way of thinking and put me in the right frame of mind. I now live a much better and happier life (not to mention my ever increasing finances).
For someone who was raised in a very negative household, I am living proof that change can happen when you let it and truly believe it is possible.
