“You do not command things to appear by your words or loud affirmations. Such vain repetition is more often than not confirmation of the opposite. Decreeing is ever done in consciousness. That is; every man is conscious of being that which he has decreed himself to be.” ~Neville Goddard
Hey mate,
You are going to love this new Neville Goddard Coffee Club Video.
Quick Summary – Stop Allowing In Your Mind
- Affirmations: Tend to be like a bad first date. (And they tend to bring up another “voice” that argues against your affirmation.)
- Inner Chit Chat: Tend to have NO energy, no involvement, and don’t CHANGE anything. Inner chit chat is just “fluff and filler”.
- Inner Argument: How many times a day do you have “Inner Arguments”? Odds are you have more than you realize. Time to put them to rest.
INSTEAD: Use the tools in the Neville Goddard ToolBox – and totally transform your world – starting right now.

You’re right, I loved it! Great insight, applicable to probably everyone! And you seemed quite comfortable on camera this time…awesome. Thanks for all you do.
Can you give me a few more examples of what inner chit chat is? Thank you so much!
Hi Jennifer,
It’s pretty much the same as outer chit chat. Thoughts, inner conversations that really don’t have any real “umph” behind them, or umph that really doesn’t matter.
Crazy Aunt Betty has “high intensity” chit chat – both in her head and in her conversations. She will probably call me later this week about the horrible events in the news. Filler. Fluff. Stuff that actually prevents me from getting to know Aunt Betty and her from getting to know me.
Another quick example: Celebrity deaths. How long were many people distracted from their REAL LIVES, because another actor died?
Hope that helps.
Blessings to you Jennifer!

Great stuff. Affirmations, inner chit-chat, and inner arguments are as involuntary for me as breathing – bad lifelong habits. I not only need to stop doing these things, I need to REPLACE them. But with what?
Thanks,
DH
That is great.. Our mind must think only the thought that is the GOD THOUGHT.. and so our words and actions will cooperates through what we think .. In reality there is only ONE MIND .. and that is the MIND that leads you in all you are thinking and doing.. That is your consciousness.. the Christ consciousness in you.. the door keeper of your heart.. that opens the door for the truth..
This is a good one. I actually do use affirmations now and then because it’s just nice to hear them inside and it helps relax my focus. I guess it depends on the individual. For me it’s more of a soothing focus and relaxing thing rather than choosing to drift into negativity. I don’t state them because they will become true but knowing that they are true and also just because it’s nice to hear them (for me).
this ‘actually’ just spoke to my relationship TT, so MANY THANX!
i’m beginning my 90 PTSD on 1 Sept, and i’ve told him that for us both to move forward & get outta the ‘past’ he’d be wise to invest in it with me as a couple. we both need to STOP THE INNER CONVERSATIONS, to arrest the anxiety & let it go once & for all. the book blew me away & now i am READY! let’s go! *thumbs up* 🙂

Wow, I never thought of it like that. Yes, subliminal is like that, vain repetitions, been thinking I'm wasting my time trying to improve my life through that way. Must study more. Thanks. Much appreciated.
Twenty,
Love this discussion. I am reminded (RE-Minded) now when I do say something. It is not as an older affirmation, but rather, when I say I AM….it is because, well, I AM. And because I am aware of it.
For me I can say there has been a use for affirmations long ago, to point me in a general desired direction before I knew tools.
Now, I don’t consider them affirmations, per se – but rather, statements about my life, and my choices. Not playing a word game here – really, there is a difference when I say I am successful, because now without the shimmy shimmy shakes…I can hear the congratulatory conversation, turning in the drive of Chubby Bird Ranch, smelling the cut grass. Yes. I am successful.
So, would it be a fair assessment that affirmations themselves shift when we, our energy behind them, shift? in that there is no…calling forth now, but rather, acknowledging what is. (Even tho the evidence is still not yet apparent in the world of Caesar?) Perhaps even what we “use” them for?
I simply don’t think of my life statements as affirmations or tools any longer. Is that my own growth, perhaps of standing without, or with less, need for tools and support?
I just read a sentence from Ernest Holmes, just now this morning, which is causing percolation on this point: these words, this “affirmation”, moved me so powerfully. “I am conscious that good is expressing through my thought.” It is as though it touched on all my Feel It Real desires. Across the board… from health to wealth. Share some thoughts with me on this one?
Love everything you do.
